NEW CREATIVE GROUP
Would you like to join a groundbreaking creative community called “Improv Our Lives”
This inclusive initiative by the team making the ‘Beyond Mother Love’ documentary film is open to people with and without learning disabilities or Autism. We invite people who are interested in working creatively together to imagine a new world where the ways we spend time with each other and relate together can be different. The group will explore this through an artistic pro called 'Improvisation.'
Why is this group happening?
We believe that the usual ways people mix together are limited, and often don’t allow people to really be themselves around those who may be different to them.
We believe that people with learning disabilities and Autism should have as much say and as much leadership in what happens when we mix together as anyone else.
The creative work of this group will be used to help the team making the ‘Beyond Mother Love’ documentary film to understand more about ‘mixed-ability’ socialising. The sessions will be filmed by our director, Jen Logan.
What will it involve?
As a team, we'll explore fresh ways of being together and connecting with others, discovering what works and what doesn't. Improvisation is wonderful because it allows us to take risks, make mistakes, learn from them, play, be silly, and most importantly, have fun!
Improv Our Lives will be led by Mimi Cooper (a dance teacher and therapist) and David Logan (a filmmaker and musician).
